Esther has been playing the accordion since she was 12 when her father brought one
home and told her "don't touch". His reverse pychology worked and Esther has been
playing ever since. At the age of 15, she had her own radio program in Rome, N.Y.
where she was born and raised.

While still living in New York, Esther was asked to perform with the United Services
Organization (USO) Camp Show during WWII in Europe and Africa. During her two
years overseas, Esther had the opportunity bring music to hospitals and cheer up injured
soldiers. She also had the good fortune to perform with Bob Hope, Humphrey Bogart,
Mickey Rooney, Marlene Dietrich, Irving Berlin, Sonja Heine and Joey Brown.

After returning to the states, Esther met Warren Craw and put her accordion away for
seven and a half years to devote all her time and energy to her husband and four
children. "That was enough reitrement time", she said, "because as soon as we moved
to Columbus I began playing again." Esther entertained crowds at Deibel's Bier Stube
for 18 years. "It's such a great feeling when you look up and everyone has a smile on
his face," Esther said of her playing there.

The CFAC is priviliged to have Esther as a member and performer. When at our
meetings, she always has a smile for everyone. And when she brings her accordion, we
know we're in for a real treat!!
